In 2020 I decided to become a cyborg 🤖.I believe that creating algorithms to streamline everyday tasks can make us more human. After many years working analog in ceramics, I am ready to unleash my skills as a creative engineer, production manager of sold-out lines, and emerging technologist in service of social good.As an ambitious person, I drank the kool aid to “monetize my hobbies”. For the last decade I wore many hat‘s, using my degree in design, and teaching myself how to produce and market home goods. I mastered taking a concept through design, iteration, production and marketing, resulting in designing and producing a mug for Free People that sold out in the first quarter. During that time my work was shown at Pitchfork and Art Basel, I spoke at Creative Mornings and Pecha Kucha, was a Featured Etsy Artist in Partnership with the American Natural History Museum in NY, where I was one of 22 artists chosen to create jewelry accessories to be sold in both the museum’s gift shop and online store. Until 2020, the bulk of my work was analog, but all that changed when I applied myself to learn programming and expand my tool chest with the building blocks of the future. I am fascinated by unlocking life's truths in the pursuit of magic. I found myself seeking rituals inspired by what Octavia Butler coined as positive obsessions–passion projects-that drive the best in ourselves. Octopuses, the Ocean, Pleasure and Consciousness are my anchors and I hope my next chapter brings me closer to meeting an Octopus in real life! 🐙My “obsession” with Octopuses inspired me to create Octopus Galaxy-- an interactive game about cephalopods.
