Using my extensive knowledge and expertise on literacy and elementary education, I researched the Science of Reading legislation, professional development and policies across the nation. Responded to requests for responses to RFPs, RFIs and curriculum rubrics and curriculum alignments for Imagine EL Education, Imagine IM, as well as the supplemental products of Language and Literacy, Espanol, and Robotify.

The director is responsible for the implementation, coordination, direction, and supervision of the special education programs of the district to include categorical funding. Represent the district in mediations, legal matters and with the San Diego County of Education. Collaborate with staff, departments, SELPA and the community.Administers and monitors all special education programs including staffing, caseloads, and services.Directs and assists the supervision of all special education programs in accordance with local, state and federal laws, policies and regulations.Collaborates with principals and other program directors to improve the quality of services.Develops department goals and objectives, and program improvement for special education including design, implementation and management of inclusive education programs.Provides information regarding current laws and regulations related to special education.Assigns and schedules special education personnel.Makes recommendations for facilities required for planned programs.Analyzes data and prepares narrative reports.Provides supervision for: School Psychologist, Speech and Language Pathologist, Adapted Physical Education Specialist, Non-Public Schools, Preschool programs, OT/PT, other support specialists.

Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and providing administrative leadership for a broad range of initiatives and activities related to assessment and accountability. Direct the work of assessment and accountability throughout the district including the creation, implementation, and revision of the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) as well as the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), Consolidated Application, and Federal Addendum. Direct and oversees testing and assessment program components, support needs and material (e.g. school accountability report card, assessments, data collection, etc.) for the purpose of delivering services which conform to established guidelines and ensuring compliance with relevant local, state and federal regulations. Prepare budget and determines allocation of funds for all programs within areas of responsibility. Monitor fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed.

In the Educational Support Services, I assist the Special Education Department and Curriculum and Instruction Department with professional learning, revising the District's LCAP, and directing a math grant in grades 7-10.

Oceanside, California

Instructional leader of an elementary school of 400+ prekindergarten through fifth grade. Supervise a staff of 80 people. Plan and present professional development. This school was closed in 2019.

Erickson Elementary School

Instructional leader of an elementary school of 600+ pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students. Supervise a staff of 60 people. Plan and present professional development sessions for the teachers in English Language Arts, Numeracy and Language Acquisition. Maintain compliance with all Federal, State and District policies and guidelines. Merged two school campuses when Lyons elementary closed.

Vesey Elementary School
