Leah D. Hudnall is a committed nonprofit leader who uses exceptional skills as a compelling and creative storyteller, writer, and strategic thought leader to advocate for stronger and more racially just communities.Leah is the founder of The Legacy Perspective, a civic consulting firm that offers project management, community engagement, and communications services to various partners – from local, frontline community organizations to regional and national foundations.In addition to developing people-centered strategies and solutions for nonprofit organizations, The Legacy Perspective has introduced creative initiatives, such as Legacy LIVE, a Black storytelling series on YouTube.Leah also works as a lecturer at the Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University, teaching courses on the experiences of Black Clevelanders, migration, school desegregation, Black political leadership, proposal writing, nonprofit programming and strategy, and Cleveland’s nonprofit and civic ecosystem.Beginning her career at the KeyBank Foundation, Leah has held roles at the Saint Luke’s Foundation of Cleveland, the George Gund Foundation, and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office throughout her professional journey.Leah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and culture from Howard University and a Master of Arts in nonprofit administration from John Carroll University.Leah actively works to build community at both grassroots and executive levels and has volunteered time and served on boards for several community causes, including education, health equity, nonpartisan voter engagement, post-secondary access, and historically Black colleges and universities.As a Cleveland native, Leah continues to support the upliftment of the city’s southeast-side neighborhoods, where she lives with her husband and their two children.
