MediaMKRS is a citywide workforce development program. A partnership between Reel Works, The NYC Mayor's Office, CUNY and media companies, we work to provide underrepresented youth and young adults access to careers within the media and entertainment industry. Through this workforce program, we hire, credential and place talented young adults into media careers. This has been designed to provide more equitable access to opportunity and build a talent pipeline that reflects the diversity of NYC.

Reel Works is a leading digital educator that transforms young lives through filmmaking. We work with over 1700 underserved NYC youth annually through a combination of paid, intensive union-led training and workforce readiness programs, in addition to our narrative and documentary labs where we match teens 1:1 with professional filmmaker mentors to tell their stories and have their voices heard through the creation of their own films. Building on my career within top media companies, I joined this team to bridge the gap between academia and the entertainment industry. Over the course of three years, I drove much of the organization's defining inclusion work across the media business. My work included guiding the successful rebrand of the Initiative, growing cross-sector partnerships, building and launching the Advisory Board, and drafting the expanded scope of research to include the music industry. Additionally, very proud to be a coauthor in building out the transformative "inclusion rider" - a data driven legal tool designed to accelerate the hiring of underrepresented communities on screen and behind the camera. The USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative is a think tank studying issues of inequality in entertainment (TV, film, digital storytelling, music) and rolling out solutions for change.
