About Leah G.

I've been offered an opportunity to get back to my roots to work on SBA 504 loans with TMC Financing! I'm joining another awesome team of Small Business lending professionals. Excited to get started at TMC!I've been offered an opportunity to join the great team at Five Star Bank to help build their SBA Processing Department. In addition I will be providing back up support in the necessary reporting that is needed with SBA Loans in their Portfolio. My previous experiences provided me the right knowledge to take on this new challenge in my career while still supporting the community small businesses! For the past 9+ years I’ve immensely enjoyed working within the Certified Development Company arena. I have to say it has been one of the most challenging jobs to learn but also one of the most rewarding I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. My first year I was a Loan Closer for the SBA 504 Loan Program. For the next 3 + years I was a Liquidation Analyst. Believe it when I say that this position, while very difficult, provided much of my overall rewarding experiences as well. When you stop to realize that you aren’t just “collecting” on a borrower who is struggling through the worst economic downturn in recent history, you are potentially helping them to keep the lights on and their doors open versus shutting them down. This was a job that demanded me, by my own drive to look outside the box, to find a way to help them. You see, if they have to shut down, there is no unemployment for them to collect. Their employees lose their jobs & where is the small business owner to go? Many times they have depleted their savings thinking if I can just hang on one more month…. While emotionally exhausting, this position really opens one’s eyes to really see just how important the SBA Loan Programs are to each of our communities. I’m proud to have helped several of these businesses make the turn.

File Manager / 7A Loan Processor / Microloan Processor

Sacramento, California Area

I work with our Relationship Managers & Borrowers up front through closing, collecting all required documentation to move a small business loan into underwriting through to funding. Once approved I prepare the Commitment Letter and along with a closing needs list of items needed to move a loan into closing. This requires strong knowledge of both SBA's SOP and State Guarantee as well as CDC guidelines to keep the file on track and moving forward as quickly as possible. We all have heard the term "Time is money" and for the small business borrower who is expanding or opening their doors, they rely on our expertise to efficiently and effectively help them with their financing needs. I take great pride in having the lowest cycle times from approval to funding my loans. It takes dedication and patience as each borrowers loan can be very different and they rely on us to help them. Being detailed, self motivated and confident allows me to be successful both professionally and personally.

Oct 2015 - Oct 2018

504 Construction Coordinator/ Ca 7A Funding Analyst

Sacramento, California Area

As of October, I was asked to join our Construction Funding Team! My new title is Funding Analyst. As I've spent the last year as a Loan Processor, I was able to build a firm foundation of CDC's policies and procedures, which has allowed them to remain the #1 504 CDC Lender! In this new position I will be working specifically with our loans that have Tenant Improvements as well as Ground Up Construction. I will work closely with our partner lenders and our borrowers to insure timely funding of the SBA Debenture once all the construction has been completed. I look forward to this new opportunity and to building or maintaining my professional relationships in this new role!I am now also working with our 7a Program by handling the multiple disbursements on each of our loans. This brings a new challenge to the table for me, but I've never been shy! It is allowing me to work with small business borrowers on a completely new and different level than I have previously. I enjoy working with the small business owners to complete their projects and get them the capital they need to grow their business!

504 Loan Processor

Most recently, I’ve moved back into the front end of the SBA 504 Loan Process as a Loan Processor. I thoroughly enjoy working with our partner Lenders and entrepreneurs both old and new with their building acquisition. Whether it’s their first or an expansion of a 2nd location or just a larger building, it’s exciting. It’s been said over and over that the Small Businesses of America are what will move the economy back where it needs to be and I’m proud to work with a company that not only embraces this but actually innovates new ways to get the needed capital out to small businesses.Onward - Company Newsletter - April 2012 to Present - Work on putting together newsletter on latest company updates, employee kudo's and upcoming company events.

Many times they have depleted their personal and retirement savings thinking if I can just hang on one more month…. While emotionally exhausting, this position really opens one’s eyes to really see just how important the SBA Loan Programs are to each of our communities.
