Provide a senior leadership role in supervising and directing an advisement team of 3 Associate Directors and 85 Remote Academic Advisors serving over 13,000 students within the College of Aviation and the Department of Worldwide Advising. Accountable for adherence to all curriculum changes and responsible for interaction with College Deans, Department Chairs, Program Coordinators, and other designated faculty to ensure accurate academic advisement and support retention efforts. Accountable for the recruitment of quality new hires, coordinate onboarding and training of new team members, and equip faculty and staff with the tools and resources necessary for growth development and exceptional academic advising. Manage and monitor the daily services for Veteran students across the Jefferson Community College campus. Develop and implement policies and procedures surrounding the veteran services deparment while developing, proposing and managing all new initiatives. Manage the daily flow of direct services to veterans and serve as a liaison for Veteran’s Services with division staff, faculty and administrative personnel. Provide assistance across campus in resolving problems in relation to veteran student issues.Develop structured academic plans for veteran and military affiliated students through continuous academic advising, transfer, and career planning assessment. A Vet Corps Navigator through the Washington Department of Veterans Affairs Americorps funded program serves on the campus of Gonzaga University to assist the military and veteran community, to include their families, in navigating the transition from military life to college life. Assist 100+ Veterans in their transition from military life to college life. Provide access and help clients navigate education, medical and other VA Programs. Promote veteran awareness throughout the campus community through outreach efforts as well as planning and carrying out various service projects on and off campus. Provide students with access to federal, state and local benefits. Provide students with a peer connection for veterans new to higher education. Served as Club Adviser to the Gonzaga University Student Veterans Organization, a chapter of Student Veterans of America.
