Project Lead - Skills And Workforce Development
Materials Applications Design Engineer
Role: Development of new and existing raw material supply to support the European manufacturing sites, both in the UK and Serbia. Developing new compounds and researching applications of novel materials to support the business strategies to target new business growth and continuously reduce risk. Development and project management from the initial supplier engagement and consultation, through to subsequent delivery and approval of raw materials. Formulation development for new and enhanced product performance, as well as supporting manufacturing application to product launch. Responsibility for day-to-day activities associated with technical support of both manufacturing sites, test laboratory management (Analytical and Physical) and closely working with both the quality and purchasing requirements. In addition:• European lead in reinforcements • New material and tyre compound development and implementation, both tread and non -tread• Introduction of sustainable concepts into tyres• Understanding and developing technologies to meet upcoming legislative requirements• Learning, communicating and implementing new technological developments and mixing strategies for performance optimisation• Liaise closely with US, Asia, Global technical centres and Goodyear business groups on joint projects and integration interests• Experienced in working with internal quality management systems; Qualified as an internal auditing assessor • ISO9001, IATF16949 & ISO17025• Successfully gained accreditation of laboratory to ISO17025• Development and maintenance of both analytical and physical test methodology• Experience with mentoring apprentices and a qualified internal education assessor
Development Scientist
Role: Business development and project management from the initial client engagement and consultation, through quotation and delivery analysis and report. This includes analytical analysis of materials and products. As well as managing key clients; also developing new techniques and procedures to support the in house development scientist team.
