Leah co-founded the Drug Discovery Group when she joined Schrödinger in 2001 and led the team until 2019 when she transitioned back into hands on drug discovery research as a Distinguished Fellow. She is also an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Chemical Physiology and Biochemistry in the School of Medicine at the Oregon Health & Sciences University. She received her PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University in 1984, and was an NIH Individual NRSA Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Before joining Schrödinger, Leah was a Principal Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals and prior to that she was an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
