In the summer of 2015 I started helping out at a volunteer organization called The Connection. The Connection is a faith based after school and summer program for school age children. I helped their organization by helping with the kids and connecting their business to the community. I recreated their brochure, created posters and flyers, and helped them develop their Facebook page. Other projects I am currently working on for them are updating their logo and continuing to increase their community involvement. I do most of my work for them from school, and I meet with the faculty on occasion to talk about what they need form me.

For this position, I periodically meet with department heads around campus about promoting various events or programs. I create a marketing plan for them (mostly internal marketing for the campus), write any copy needed for the materials that will be used, and coordinate with the design team what each client is looking for. Our team uses a project managing system, called dapulse, where we connect with each other on projects. For example, if a client requested a digital TV ad, I would attach the file with my copy on dapulse along with a description of the conceptual design I am looking for. We add each project to the server, set proof and due dates, rank projects by importance, show the progress made on each project, and connect with everyone around the office. The server keeps everyone organized and on schedule. I also wrote several feature articles that were published in local publications. For this, I called or emailed the people I wanted to interview for the story, set an interview date and time, met with them for the interview, followed up via email for any clarifying questions, and wrote the article. I then worked with my supervisor on any edits that were needed for the article. Finally, I worked with the video team to create a series of Life Transformed videos. For this project I looked for students on campus that had an interesting story to tell and I reached out to them for an interview. The video team set up all of the lights and cameras, and I conducted the interview. After the interview, the video team and I worked together to edit the video and craft the story we were looking for.

Flypaper Creative Services is an on campus, for credit, student run advertising agency. While I was here, I performed the following tasks:• Communicate with external clients including the Fargo Marathon, Keeping U Afloat, and Lutheran Social Services.• Coordinate with my team to create promotional materials.• Design logos, posters, magazines, and more.

My responsibilities as a Building Manger include:-Overseeing employee performance-Keeping communication lines open between fitness staff members and facility managers-Keeping communication lines open between the rock wall staff and facility managers -Assisting facility managers in creating content for the social media pages-Training in new staff members-Learning new policies and procedures first, and then relaying updates to the fitness staffMy responsibilities as a Rock Wall Belayer include:-Providing a safe environment for people to climb -Belaying people while they climbed (holding them on the wall with a rope) -Planning climbing events such as the Vertical Mile and the Spring Climbing Challenge -Communicating with members about proper safety procedures, climbing techniques, and rules-Rock wall maintenance: cleaning, taking down and putting up holds, rotating routes, and checking safety equipment.My Responsibilities as a Wellness Center Fitness Staff Member include:-Keeping the facility clean and safe for members-Running the cash register-Communicating with members about special events and safety regulations

As the marketing assistant at Trollwood Performing Arts School I assisted the marketing director in all communication efforts. I helped redesign the weekly newsletter, wrote spotlight articles about the play staff, attended practices and took pictures, posted to social media, and more. I also assisted in ad sales for the main stage musical playbill. This included calling advertising customers, asking them about their ad needs, following up on ad payments, designing a few ads when necessary, and more.

I pay special attention to every customer's drink order, and I prepare the drink to the customers liking in accordance with Caribou's quality standards. In the summer of 2015 I had an internship at Canby City Hall as an office assistant. My responsibilities here include:-Organizing and calculating residents' water bills-Mailing important documents-Writing receipts for various expenses-Balancing accounts-Working with local business owners-Organizing various tasks for the Canby Theater Rehabilitation Project-Communicating with city employees about resident issues-Working with the city administrator -Answering phones, filing documents, and other day-to-day activities-And many other odd tasks because every day was different and you never knew what was going to pop up next. It kept me on my toes.
