During my 10-month non-profit apprenticeship, I focused on capacity building through various impactful projects benefiting residents of Eatonville and the broader Central Florida community. I led initiatives within the Linking Legacies program to support inheritors of heirs’ property, addressing barriers to generational wealth caused by historical segregation. This involved organizing free will clinics and launching targeted multimedia campaigns to enhance community engagement and awareness.Additionally, I established a collaborative partnership with a local company to develop and implement an innovative employment pipeline program for Eatonville residents, providing access to training, job opportunities, and economic empowerment. I also spearheaded a new outreach strategy for HELP CDC’s First-Time Homebuyer’s Education Seminars. This included designing and distributing promotional materials, managing social media, collaborating with partners, improving event technology setup, and streamlining the registration process, ultimately serving hundreds of first-time homebuyers. Furthermore, I expanded the seminars to be conducted in both Spanish and English, ensuring broader accessibility.

Through the AmeriCorps Public Allies program, a cohort-style leadership development initiative focused on advancing social justice and equity, I completed a 10-month non-profit apprenticeship while participating in bi-weekly leadership training. These sessions covered a range of topics, including collaboration, inclusivity, systemic oppression, and accountability.As part of my role, I served as a team leader on a Team Service Project, where I collaborated with my group to develop a sustainable pen-pal program between local college students and seniors at an independent living facility. This initiative, aimed at combating loneliness, was successfully implemented using an Asset-Based Community Development framework.Additionally, I had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., where I met with members of Congress to bring awareness to the Public Allies program and its impact on advancing social justice and equity. This experience enhanced my understanding of policy and the importance of raising awareness for community-focused initiatives.

In my role as a Presidential Intern at Al-Akhawayn University, I created and managed Excel dashboards to track the effectiveness of all university programs, providing valuable data insights and facilitating the evaluation process. I served as a liaison for inter-departmental projects, enhancing program curricula through efficient progress tracking. Additionally, I created reports for the university’s accrediting institution, contributing to the college’s broader strategic objectives and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

As an English Conversation Group Facilitator at Al-Akhawayn University, I had the privilege of facilitating learning for Moroccan students studying English as a second language. Through engaging group learning sessions, I contributed to the academic and personal development of over 100 students. Utilizing principles of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), I created dynamic and interactive learning environments that fostered language proficiency and cultural exchange.

In my capacity as a Student Education Intern at Relief International in Jordan, I led and assisted teachers in English classes within two of Jordan's Syrian refugee camps: Azraq and Za'atari. Impacting the lives of over 300 refugee youth, I played a pivotal role in providing them with essential language skills and life skills necessary for their future.To address the unique challenges faced by refugee students, I crafted tailored materials and lesson plans designed to efficiently deliver life skills and essential English in a short period of time. These resources covered crucial topics such as survival English, Western culture and norms, and resume writing, empowering students with practical knowledge to navigate their new environment and pursue future opportunities.
