In January 2017 Leah York founded Talbott Talent with one goal – to dramatically improve the work culture of nonprofits by changing their hiring practices - who and how they hire.Since 2017 Leah has served as the President of Talbott Talent (named after her brother), transforming nonprofits through their people. Leah leads a strategic, passionate team of recruiters and nonprofit consultants to help nonprofits and associations find the best executives, hire the right staff members, and recruit mission-aligned board members to ultimately transform organizations through their people.Prior to founding Talbott Talent, Leah spent almost 20 years in association C-suite and nonprofit consulting roles, including serving as an outsourced CFO for multiple associations and nonprofits, an interim CEO, and the Chief Operations Officer for Indiana Perinatal Network, where she served for 11 years. Leah established a career as a financial, governance, and leadership consultant for nonprofits and associations across the country. Leah earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University, her MBA from the University of Indianapolis, and is recognized as a Certified Association Executive by the American Society of Association Executives. She is a graduate of the Hamilton County Leadership Academy and has served on many nonprofit boards throughout her community, region, and state, including Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE), Art with a Heart, and The O’Connor House. Leah is passionate about volunteering and giving back to her community. She is the founding board president of the OneZone One Impact Foundation. In addition to her board service on various nonprofits over the years, she currently serves on the Board of Zoning Appeals for Carmel, Indiana.
