Hi, I'm Leah! I'm an artist and graphic designer with a passion for interpreting the world around me through all kinds of different media. My art has been featured in the Walter's art museum in Baltimore, Spotlight on Youth student art exhibitions, in the Maryland Dept. of Education, Carroll County Youth Art Month exhibition, and the Westminster Peep Show (the marshmallow chick Easter candy!). I am also the grateful recipient of many art awards, like the Wentz Most Promising Freshman Art Prize, the Wasyl Palijczuk Art Award, and the South Carroll High School Student Artist of the Year Award.As an aspiring graphic designer, I utilize my background in traditional art to give my designs a creative, detail-oriented edge. I received a specialized education in the field while dual-enrolling in a tech school during high school, and this provided me with a baseline knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite, principles of graphic design, as well as some print production equipment. During this course I also was entrusted with working with real clients who came to the program for design jobs, and I gained experience communicating with fellow designers and clients, writing up invoices, and producing my own work from idea to digital design to printing and packaging. My clients were always extremely pleased with my ability to work quickly, produce high quality work, and develop polished, creative designs that still matched their needs.However, I don't just like to focus all of my attention on traditional art and design. I am also passionate about art history, reading, writing, and crochet. It was this last passion that led me to one of my most fulfilling learning opportunities. In high school, I was president of the Project Linus club, which produced handmade blankets for children's hospital patients. Not only was the work fulfilling, but being president of the club taught me valuable leadership, communication, and teaching skills.
