I have worked in the environmental education field for over 15 years and delight in connecting people with nature. As the Park Operations Coordinator for the Surrey Nature Centre I oversee the facility, site and staff team.My role includes:- hiring, training and coaching staff.- maintaining and reporting on operational budgets. - working with staff and management to determine goals and strategic objectives.- liaising with contractors to ensure the site and facility are in top operating condition.Skills:- event coordination- interpretive brochure and signage creation- great customer service- relationship building- reading people and building teamsHighlights:- continued stewardship of the Surrey Nature Centre at Green Timbers Park - coordinated Surrey's Environmental Extravaganza for ten years. - drove the AquaVan (not the shiny new AquaVan, the old one!) around BC and Alberta with intertidal animals and delivered school programs.- presented at the Interpretation Canada - BC Chapter Conference: Getting Buy-in for Building a Thematic Framework.- mentor to four, fabulous UBC forestry students.
