Current- Supervise “Community Connections” Strategic Planning group.- Design, write content for, publish, and distribute the quarterly district magazine, Turner Today, to all community patrons, staff, and selected local and state school agencies and locally elected officials. - Create district and school marketing materials, promotional announcements, advertisements, videos, and other material as requested. - Write, publish, and distribute internal staff communications, including bi-quarterly staff newsletter. - Planning and execution of district's back to school event which involves community partners and typically sees 1,000 attendees. - Assist parents with access to information and communication resources such as Infinite Campus, SchoolMessenger, district website and other available tools. Create and update online parent resources and printed materials as needed.- Manage, write copy, provide photography for the district website. Additionally, I was responsible for a district website redesign in 2022. - Create content for and manage district social media platforms. - Participate in statewide public relations efforts through the Kansas School Public Relations Association. - Follow state/federal legislation and other government and private proposals and actions which may affect schools. Communicate these items to stakeholders as needed. - Write and distribute press releases on events/topics of interest to area media. Maintain a positive working relationship with local media.- Represent the district at the county, city, and community levels by attending meetings and sitting on relevant committees.- Manage Parent/Community Liaison staff member.- Assist with grant writing, as needed.- Crisis communications, as needed.
