I just recently started working as an Au Pair for a family living in the Stellenberg area. They have two great kids ages 3 and 7 whom I take care of from 16:00-18:00 in the afternoons. My duties include:- Picking up from school- Packing out school bags- Preparing snacks- Doing homework- Playing/doing activities with them

I am currently an Au Pair for an amazing family with whom I have been with for over a year now, They reside in the Welgemoed area and I take care of their two beautiful girls, ages 2 and 4, from 05:30 - 08:00 in the mornings. I also babysit for them about 2 Saturdays a month. My duties include:- Preparing school bags- Preparing Breakfast- Dressing the children - Dropping them off at school

As part of my final year of studying event management we have been given the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge from qualified Event Companies to prepare us for the event industry. This opportunity exposes us to the working cultures and gives us hands on experience where we are able to demonstrate and apply what we have been taught in our three years of studies. To obtain my 350 hours of hands-on work experience I will be interning for The Beanstalk Group, an Events Company but also partner company for Jack n Jill Hire and BANG Hair studio. I will gain knowledge and experience on how to plan and excecute an event from start to finish, event co-ordination, logistics, event equiptment hiring and much more, because The Beanstalk Group is such a diverse events company.

- Take drink and food orders from customers- Serve drinks and food to customers- Assist with food orders on busy days- Assist with stock take

In August 2012, I went to the United States to work as an Au Pair. I spent two years living with a family in Seattle WA and taking care of their 6 month old son until he was two and a half years old. I took care of him on a average daily basis from 07:00 - 16:00.I lived with them and was part of the family, so I helped with making dinners, cleaning up and putting the baby to bed in the evenings. I also had the great opportunity to be part of and celebrate the american way on Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, 4th of July and other american holidays with them. I also had the opportunity to take short courses for personal growth, some were in the evenings and other on weekends.I had off-weekends and vacation time which allowed me to travel to various cities and states in the US and experience new things for example skiing for the first time. This experience was not only beneficial for building up working experience, but also for personal growth and development. It taught me much about myself and my character and also presented me with the opportunity to open my eyes to new cultures and experiences. This two year experience made me grow up much faster and allowed me to open my eyes to a whole other world.
