Delivered English Reading and Writing instruction for undergraduate students to introduce processes vital to understanding prose. Designed syllabus and delivered instruction that required students to read and respond to topics to increase their facility with writing. Provided evidence-based reading and writing strategies for students with significant difficulties in literacy skills. Utilized rubrics to assess student writing and provided personalized meaningful feedback in a timely fashion.

6-8th grades Mild/Moderate Disabilities teacher in the inclusion and self-contained setting. Spearheaded the creation and implementation of an inclusion program to students taught exclusively in the self-contained setting. Maintained a student caseload to manage IEP’s, record data for Functional Behavior Assessments and monitor their progress.

8th grade general education Language Arts Teacher. Co-taught with the Special Education & English Language Learners teacher in inclusion setting. Achieved the highest passing percentage rate of students (93%) on the English Language Arts State Assessment within the district.

7th grade English Language Arts & Social Studies teacher. Received Novice Teacher of the year award.
