UNITED WAY OF AMARILLO & CANYON – AMARILLO, TEXAS JANUARY 2019–PRESENT Event Coordinator Support the Marketing & Communications Director in planning and executing United Way events such as the Kickoff Luncheon, Youth Leadership Day, Victory Celebration, Day of Caring, Young Professionals United, and Loaned Executive Training. Serve as lead on events and initiatives and plan and administer event budgets. Scout potential event locations and vendors and negotiate and close contracts with each. Lead all administrative support operations such as event registration, production scheduling, logistics, catering, parking, and audio-visual. Significantly increase participation in all events, including an increase of more than 600 in the Kickoff Luncheon and a Youth Day hosting more than 800 young people ages 13 to 18.

I currently work under Lyn Anderson as her personal assistant. I assist with booking, billing, social media management and event execution.

I completed my internship in college as a Volunteer Coordinator for SXSW (South by Southwest). SXSW is the largest media event in Austin and has exhibitions for film, music, and technology. This large range of industry allows for a specific role in a large organization. As an intern for the volunteering department you can see first hand how the SXSW operates by working the volunteers check in center, providing logistic support to over 2900 volunteers, and even work the registration component for over 20,000 badge holders. Most interns worked at least 20 hours a week from January to March. During the week of SXSW interns worked tireless from 8 in the morning till 10 pm at night completing about 50 hours of work during the week of spring break.
