UbiCar is an Underwriting Agency, established in 2018 to bring telematics based Car Insurance to Australia. It was a privately funded start-up responsible for the front and back end insurance systems, distribution, pricing and claims.As employee number 4 and the first insurance expert, I was accountable for the establishment of the insurance business.

In this role I am responsible for the leadership, planning and execution of customer research and advanced analytics programs across all distribution channels and lines of business. I work in close collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders to build a pipeline of initiatives to create capability, drive efficiencies and achieve scalable growth..

I was tasked with building Allianz’s customer analytics capabilities and shaping how Allianz uses data to engage with customers, partners and suppliers. This included overseeing the development of a single customer view, establishing the analytics function from scratch and embedding capability throughout the organisation.

In this role my objective was to oversee key strategic initiatives across the organisation including development of corporate strategy, performance tracking, NPS and brand tracking and innovation leadership. A key focus was reinvigorating the research function to build a collaborative, cross-functional approach to product and service development.

Initially as Senior Product Manager, later as General Manager, I was responsible for the domestic motor portfolio across Australia and NZ, driving portfolio growth and profitability across all sales channels. This included pricing development, underwriting, system development, management reporting, technical sales support and product communication for all.

Responsible for IAG’s Home Insurance portfolio distributed under the NRMA, RACV, SGIO and SGIC brands. A highlight was delivering record underwriting profits over 5 years and developing a best practice home insurance and underwriting capability as assessed by Accenture.Earlier experience at IAG and NRMA included a range of roles in product management.
