As the Executive Director Burnaby Hospital & Burnaby Community Health ServicesLeanne is focused on building strong partnerships with staff, physicians, and volunteers to deliver high quality of patient care across acute and community.She has over 30 years of experience in health care in nursing practice, education, and administration within acute tertiary and community settings. Leanne’s career began as. nurse at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, and then at Vancouver General Hospital. She has held director positions over the past 14 last years within PHSA and Vancouver Coastal Health. Leanne’s career focus has been in trauma, surgery, critical care and outpatient services as well as large scale transformational projects. In 2015/2016 Leanne led the Redevelopment Project at LGH which involved the completion of the Concept Plan associated with the proposed future Medical and Surgical Centre & Power Plant. During the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Leanne provided leadership with the establishment of the Mobile Medical Unit within Whistler Athlete’s Village and then became the first Clinical Operations Director, BC’s Mobile Medical PHSA. Most recently, Leanne was the Director of BC Transplant and Specialized Chronic Disease Services at PHSA.
