Assistant manager at Great Yarmouth branch in Norfolk. Jointly responsible for a team of 18 with the Branch Manager. In this role I have supported he lead of two branch closures and a relocation into a new site. It was the first Barclays branch in the country to go 'live' with the new design, so alongside the day to day activities of the branch, I have also networked with key stakeholders providing both colleague and customer feedback for future and present branches. During my time in this role I have led the team to deliver excellent customer service whilst growing commercial performance and compliant operations.

After 18 months in the company I become Branch Manager at the Gorleston Branch in Norfolk directly line managing 9 colleagues. I grew KPIs in several product lines, including life insurance, home insurance, account add-ons and mortgages. Whilst running the branch it received 100% satisfaction surveys every month. My biggest achievement in this role was growing the company 11 places on the compass after just 2 months, the compass was a national performance rank used to measure a branches overall performance in factoring KPIs.

The Retail Development Programme allowed me to start a career whilst also studying for a degree in Leadership and Management. I worked full time in the branch network through the community banking roles, cashier, personal banker, operations manager, assistant manager and branch manager. I combined my academic studies with my roles to enable me to question and research into areas of the business I felt could be improved and on occasions my report recommendations were implemented. Working full time and studying independently led to achieving a 2:1 in my Leadership and Management degree.
