I teach personal safety courses. These include 'Breakaway' and 'Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression.' These are both theory and practical courses tailored for those working in Mental Health and learning disability settings. They can be tailored to cater for anybody confronted by aggressive individuals.

Current conflict resolution/management instructor for Mersey Care NHS foundation trust. Delivering training to all staff within the trust. This ranges from induction training, staff refresher training and specialist training daysfor consultants and non-nursing staff. Regularly train at least twelve sessions a month. Content being delivered is in line with NHS protects guidelines The five core aims are as follows:To provide a summary of the role of NHS Protect, local anti-crime roles and security management work in the NHS.To provide an illustration of what constitutes conflict, how it arises and, using personal experience, how to be effective in reducing the risk of conflict occurring.To explore the role of communication in conflict and how to use it effectively.To outline the procedural, environmental and legal context of violence in the workplace.Explain what is required of individuals and organisations after a violent incident and the support available to those involved.

One of CITRUS models Lead trainers. The CITRUS model is BILD accredited. Small number of instructors providing input to the ongoing development of the CITRUS model, provision of train to staff and on train the trainer courses. Ensuring staff are supported to work in least restrictive approaches.
