Qc Microbiologist
CurrentLakeland Dairies, Ireland's second largest dairy processing co-operative, operates within a fifteen county catchment area in the northern half of the island of Ireland. The Group processes about one billion litres of quality milk annually into a range of value added dairy products and functional food ingredients.Duties include: • Carry out sample preparation of routine and non-routine microbiology testing of in-process and finished products, raw materials such as ingredients and process water to ensure compliance with SOP, customer, group and regulatory standards and procedures as well as GLP and aseptic techniques.• Conduct calibration checks on product test equipment. Carry out investigative sampling and testing to improve product quality and factory hygiene standards. • Participate in proficiency testing & split sample testing as required by customers. • Maintaining good health and safety practice and laboratory ISO documentation, water analysis, environmental swabs and ensuring compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations as well as HACCP. • Reporting all results, issues and documentation to supervisor and management. Report and trend all data into appropriate software. • Carry out training and educate newly employed technicians through guidance and instruction. • Carry out, report and present internal audits throughout the laboratory. • Team Lead of 5 laboratory technicians.
