About Leanne Dougherty
I am a Staff Fellow for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Previously, I worked as a Senior Implementation Science Advisor for the Population Council. I managed a portfolio of social and behavior change (SBC) research, monitoring and evaluation activities under the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Breakthrough RESEARCH project in Francophone West Africa. Prior to joining the Council, I worked as a Senior Technical Advisor with the Center for Health Information and Monitoring and Evaluation (CHIME) at John Snow, Inc (JSI). In this capacity, I served as a resource on research, monitoring and evaluation approaches, cost and expenditure analyses, and strategy and proposal development for JSI projects. I was responsible for leading a portfolio of learning activities for the USAID Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) and the Strengthening Partnerships Results for Innovation in Nutrition Globally (SPRING) project. I also was the research, monitoring and evaluation principal investigator for the Community Benefits Health evaluation under the Concern Worldwide led Innovations project. I served for five years as an analyst for the Analysis, Information, Management and Knowledge Management Services projects where I managed the publication of the Global Health Child Survival Report to Congress in 2009 and 2010. I have also worked for Abt Associates where I provided monitoring and evaluation support for the USAID funded Private Sector Partnership (PSP)-ONE project and the Futures Group where I conducted secondary analyses using Demographic and Health Survey data and oversaw household survey data collection in Senegal, the Gambia and Rwanda as well as a facility survey in Haiti. I also worked on the USAID funded Partnerships for Health Reform project where I provided administrative and analytic support for case studies on immunization financing in four countries.
