I have been a Physical Education teacher for 20+ years. Having taught in England, Australia, New Zealand, Shanghai and most recently Hong Kong for last 12 years. Returning to my hometown of Edinburgh, I wanted a new challenge and used my passion for cycling to set up a Cycle tour company - A wee pedal. Active and sustainable travel is very important to me and I love showing visitors this beautiful city on two wheels. After gaining the relevant qualifications I volunteer for 'Breeze' run by British Cycling which offers free women's only bike rides. I’m a British Cycling tutor - running courses for ride leaders. As part of my ‘pay-it-forward’ promise, I run a community programme at Bridgend Farmhouse every Friday offering, family friendly bike rides, adult beginner cycle classes, U6 balance bike classes and basic bike maintenance classes. We are now working with schools and charity groups leading rides and Bikeability sessions. I am part of Scottish Cycling Women's Development group where we work together across Scotland to promote cycling of all levels to women and girls. A wee pedal recently won ‘Visit Scotland’s Regional Best Outdoor Experience 2022/23 recognised for our low impact, zero carbon activities with ‘above and beyond’ care for our customers’ as well as our commitment to helping communities access free cycling activities.
