Recruited to this global medical device company to transform the company’s existing health and wellness program into a world-class entity, I was honored to achieve national recognition as an industry trailblazer, representing CooperCompanies at major wellness summits as the leader of a program that today reaches 10,000 employees with 33 active sites globally. Highlights from this outstanding position include being responsible for all phases of strategic and day-to-day operational planning; helping the company earn U.S. Great Place to Work® Certification; collaborating with IT in developing reports and a dashboard for senior management to easily glean program status/updates; developing all SOPs, marketing communications, annual reports, tools, and collateral; coordinating, implementing, and completing all wellness projects and initiatives per schedule, budget, and scope; and identifying, training, and supporting 250 global wellness champions worldwide in the Americas, Europe, & Asia Pacific. I am proud to speak at national and international conferences, where I have had the great pleasure of serving on panels with wellness experts from many leading corporations and universities, including Shell Oil. In this highly rewarding role, I actively assisted employer groups to strategize, plan, implement, and evaluate worksite wellness programs with emphasis on Population Health Management relative to workforce benefits, including improved health, cost savings & overall productivity. Selected achievements include the collaborative design, promotion, and integration of an incentive-based benefit design into employer group strategy; leading wellness initiatives large and small in a project manager role; maintaining positive relationships across organizations; providing opportunities for onsite health and wellness education; serving as a subject matter expert and speaker at local, national, and international events; being recognized as a thought leader on such topics as Workplace Stress Management, Emotional Wellness & Physical Wellness; and being recruited to one of MVP’s clients, Cooper Companies, following an outstanding affiliation in a consultancy role.

I loved working at MCC, where I was responsible for preparing, teaching, and assessing several different college level classes (Physical Fitness Theory and Practice, Health and Safety in the Workplace, Fitness for Women, and Stress Management). Highlights include the development of a comprehensive wellness initiative for MCC employees, entitled “Making Change Count;” creating a special fitness/stress reduction offering, “Losing it with Leanne,” which achieved a significant following; being invited to deliver a well-received presentation to 150 MCC employees on the myriad benefits of health and wellness; serving as Strength and Conditioning Coach, MCC Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving teams as well as Camp Manager of the Summer Youth Sports Program, a fully grant-driven camp to support economically disadvantaged youth.

This was another highly rewarding opportunity, for in addition to developing and implementing the K-6 and 9-12 curriculum development and implementation for the school district ranked #9 out of 10,815 as a “2020 Best School District for Athletes in America,” I began to see the huge value of encouraging students to find their individual passions so that they would become “movers for life.” I was honored to achieve recognition as a high performance teacher, in which I was routinely selected for expanded responsibilities throughout my tenure.
