With over 30 years of experience as an occupational therapist, I am passionate about providing quality, client-centered, and evidence-based services to people of any age across the lifespan. My mission is to enable and empower my clients to achieve their highest potential in their daily activities, roles, and environments.Currently, I work as an occupational therapist in short term, long term, and outpatient rehabilitation where I support clients experiencing various levels of needs and challenges by facilitating participation in meaningful activities. By applying skilled and purposeful evaluation and interventions designed for helping clients restore, compensate, and adapt their abilities to meet environmental demands, my clients are able to establish their own successful participation in the areas of their lives that matter most to them. As a highly experienced occupational therapist, I apply my holistic expertise in disease process, chronic disorders and wellness concepts to improve physical, psychosocial, and cognitive wellbeing to achieve client directed quality of life outcomes. For many years, I served as a clinical QA specialist, program builder, teacher and trainer for the largest contract rehabilitation company in the nation, where I developed and mentored multidisciplinary allied health professionals in best practices, clinical programming, medical necessity, justification of skilled services, denial prevention, documentation, and clinically sound discharge planning. I have successfully written and secured grants for school-based violence prevention and mental health interventions in early stages of my career. I have been an avid writer throughout my career and my early publications have been referenced as examples of what defines best practice for the occupational therapy profession at large.
