I have 38 years experience as an occupational therapist and in the past 27 years I have worked in the private health and disability sector. I founded Everyday Independence in 1997 and it is now a national, inter-disciplinary, allied health organisation that achieves incredible outcomes for people and their families, that they experience everyday.Prior to Everyday Independence I worked in public health; rehabilitation and acute care. My clinical area of interest and expertise is working with people and families who live with significant disability.I have learned that for services to “make a lasting difference” you need to understand what is important to the person and their family to be able to provide services that will have the most impact, and endure the ebb and flow of daily life.As a leader at Everyday Independence I focus on clinical excellence and supporting our team of therapists to bring their best to their work and be outcomes focused using evidence based practice. I'm excited by pushing myself and others to continually reflect and improve.I share my knowledge with the Everyday Independence team and we use our learnings, from the people we work with, to shape our organisation. I enthusiastically engage with the decision makers in the disability sector.
