In 2019 I returned from a study tour with the London UCL Institute of Education looking closely at the project ‘Maximising the Impact of Teaching Assistants’.In 2020 consulted on The Australian Guidance Report for Teaching Assistants with SVA.I now lead professional learning for teaching assistants around their role, purpose, and contribution in inclusive education. We have high expectations of all students, and we know that with the right support all students can succeed, and so we enhance each teaching assistants’ expertise in implementing inclusive education practices through continuous professional learning, coaching, and mentoring. Alongside school leaders we remove barriers and support inclusion building quality teaching and learning practices, that improve student learning and well-being outcomes.Together building confident, skilled, and capable teaching assistants.

I know I am a much, much, much more effective classroom teacher when I collaborate in a partnership with an excellent teaching assistant. I have benefited from the dedicated, and creative efforts of teaching assistants with whom I have worked, and have enormous respect for teaching assistants - both individually, and collectively.We continue to work around questions of equity, access, and learning outcomes for all students in school communities with the focus of our work centred around the deployment, practice, and preparation of teaching assistants in inclusive learning environments.

Designed course content / learning, classroom delivery, and workplace supervisor for national qualifications for teaching assistants.Contributed to the vocational textbook 'Enhancing Education Support.' Collaborated with AIME [Aboriginal Indigenous Mentor Experience], Save the Children, and Smith Family I supervised more than 100 practicums for pre-service teaching assistants at more than 60 schools.
