In this role Leanne has been responsible for the development of learning materials and eLearning resources for Diploma and Certificate IV level courses in agribusiness, farm management and small business management Modules.Leanne is also responsible for the delivery of quality training and support to adult learners enrolled in agribusiness, farm management and small business management Modules through flexible delivery in Diploma in Agriculture, Certificate IV in Agriculture and Diploma in Horse Industry Management.Leanne has utilised and managed the Moodle Course Management System as a supplement to face-to-face teaching for a variety of Units by creating a comprehensive suite of eLearning resources and support mechanisms for each Module. This has included creating and managing lessons, activities, assessments and forums as well as recording student grades.Leanne liaises and collaborates with other teaching and support staff in the Primary Industries and Natural Resources Faculty at the Goulburn, Wollongong and Cooma Campus’ of the Illawarra Institute to facilitate the delivery of courses and modules.

Leanne has worked across a range of agricultural industries to apply economics and evaluate technologies and improved practices arising from scientific research. In her capacity as Project Officer (Economics) working on an Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) project, Leanne played a key research role working across eight major fruit and vegetables industries in the Philippines and Australia undertaking economics research on the impacts of new technologies and policy on the production of vegetables and fruit in Australia and the southern Philippines. This research involved identifying constraints and impacts to production, identifying benefits and costs from new technologies in the areas of pest and disease management, soil management, protected cropping and policy and undertaking ex-ante and ex-post impact assessment at the on-farm, regional and industry level. Leanne has undertaken evaluation of the economic, environmental and social on and off-farm impacts of Industry and Investment NSW research in Integrated Pest Management in the areas of invertebrate pests in rice, Lettuce IPM, and cold disinfestations of citrus.Leanne has contributed as part of the research team on a number of Horticulture Australia Ltd (HAL) projects including a benefit cost analysis of IPM adoption in head and hydroponic lettuce from a grower perspective as part of the benchmarking component of the IPM Coordination project VG09191, assessing the performance of low-medium technology greenhouse production project VG 07145 and benefit cost analysis of a multi-target approach to fruit spotting bug management.Leanne has also been involved with projects relating soil amendment economics, biochar agro-economic analysis and biochar business case development with senior research scientists in NSW as well as green house gas accounting and life cycle assessment projects with researchers from the National Center for Greenhouse Research.
