I am an enthusiastic individual who has had a diverse career in commercial, taking on lead roles managing contracts and supplier performance within Oil & Gas and the UK Government.I graduated from law and further to that completed the Advanced Certification in CIPS (procurement and supply). I am able to utilise my legal background to easily interpret and apply the regulations/common law within the Public Contracts Regs and contract law. I have extensive experience in commercial contract management, dealing with commercial disputes within legal private practice and then latterly in the energy industry before taking up a role within the Civil Service in 2020. I’ve managed multiple procurement processes from the beginning to end-of-life for various categories including, forestry, business services, IT and offshore maintenance for the energy industry. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to learn a varied portfolio which I use within my day-to-day work to ensure that when applying contractual principles, I always consider the long-term effect these may have on personnel, mediation, arbitration or formal litigation. Prior to transferring into a commercial career; I worked within Human Resources for energy firms, where I was responsible for supporting internal stakeholders with the provision of guidance on employment contracts, as well as recruitment, compensation, managing absence and TUPE.
