I’ve had the pleasure and privilege to be able to reflect on, in total, 22 years of teaching and leadership experience, including being an Assistant Principal and Deputy Head of Small School in two London academies. After French GCSE, I studied Spanish at 6th Form (SFX in the House - and, yes, I believe that 'Six Degrees of SFX' is a "thing") and, then, a for a BA in Spanish with German (Language, Literature and Linguistics) in Manchester, at MMU. After working in Catalonia, and a stint in office management, as well as general, contract and marketing/sponsorship administration in The City of London, I embarked on a PGCE at the IOE.I have had the opportunity to visit and learn, in person, from schools in Chicago, NYC and Lithuania, build an initially single-handed successful start-up MFL department, speak at Association for Language Learning (ALL) PGCE and biannual events and to be a committee member of, and contributor to, the current UK Teachers’ Standards. In my fifth year as an educational consultant, I continue to support and advise (new) teachers, middle, senior and executive leaders, in order to foment a love of all things language and culture in young people. In doing so, I hope to play a part in fostering their holistic development and, hopefully, also in broadening horizons and widening perspectives and opportunities. Areas of expertise and interest include culture for learning, questioning, explaining and modelling and developing others. I am currently improving my Portuguese and Italian and have a keen and active interest in languages at A level, initial teacher training, crafting, music, theatre and… the uke :).As a qualified coaching professional, I aim to pull all of these threads of experience together(somehow!) and offer, to those who would like it, a safe and confidential space to be listened to,land, unload, unpack, unpick, goal-set, figure out and thrive.
Listed skills include Teaching, Spanish, Public Speaking, Microsoft Office, and 16 others.
