Leanne is a health policy consultant and consumer advocate with over thirty years’ experience in national health and social policy, program and service development. She has previously served as Director and Special Adviser at 89 Degrees East - a data, strategy and delivery consultancy.Leanne has executive level experience working across government and non-government settings specialising in health consumer affairs, community engagement, primary health and mental health care reform. She is the former longstanding CEO of the Consumers Health Forum of Australia, the nation’s preeminent peak body for healthcare consumers. She has served as CEO of national peak and state-based organisations in the primary health sector including the Australian Medicare Local Alliance, Australian General Practice Network, and Capital Health Network. Leanne has extensive governance and advisory experience. Current directorships include Coordinare (the Southeastern NSW Primary Health Network) and the OzHelp Foundation. She is Chair of the OzHelp Foundation, the Expert Consumer and Community Panel at ASPIRE (the Australian Social Prescribing Institute for Research and Education) and the Community Advisory Council for Coordinare. She is a member of the Orygen Institute’s External Advisory Board.She is a former director of the Australian Pharmacy Council, painAustralia and the Population Health Research Network. She has served on high-level, Ministerially appointed government taskforces and has chaired government committees including the ACSQHC's Patient Advisory Panel.She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management and has qualifications on communications and business.
