Management of the State Government funded Community Revitalisation project, known as Flemington Works. Providing strategic leadership and guidance, this role is responsible for increasing social and economic inclusion outcomes with residents of the Flemington Housing Estate, using a place based, collective impact approach.

This position included managing the Community Development unit with responsibility for work across a broad range of social policy issues and community development initiatives, including delivery of council’s community grants programs, neighbourhood house coordination, and place based initiatives.

As part of the People, Culture and Community Office, this diversity and inclusion coordination role had a focus on embedding justice and equity principles across the Council. Leading a newly formed team to identify opportunities to bring together and streamline work that had a focus on gender equality, LGBTIQ+ communities, people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Cambodia

Cambodia’s first and only gender-focused and culturally tailored business Incubator and Accelerator programs for women. Reporting to the Managing Director, this position worked closely with the leadership team to successfully manage change in a period of significant organisational growth. I worked across the organisation to develop leadership capacity and influence social enterprise strategy design, enabling strong and courageous people to implement social change.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Khemara is a well established rights based Cambodian NGO that has a focus on the empowerment of women and children through action with communities across five provinces. Reporting to the Executive Director and managing a small team, this role worked across the organisation to identify and implement shifts in strategy and fundraising models, to increase organisational sustainability. This role was also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with philanthropic and international NGO donors to further our work.

Melbourne, Australia

A cross organisational role to embed health equity principles across organisational systems, practices and programs. I was also responsible for the design and implementation of a range of community projects demonstrating how to apply innovation and health equity lenses to effect social change. The role also co-produced and delivered an internal Health Equity Leaders Program.

Led the delivery of statewide programs to increase physical activity across Victoria. This included leading the gender equity in sport portfolio managing a $5.5m investment in 16 state sporting associations with the aim of developing inclusive and welcoming sporting environments.

The provision of leadership and team culture development, coaching, team management, developing training programs, and delivering state and national competition pathways. Key achievements included leading the development of the Australian first, competency based boccia coaching program, including curriculum development and the introduction of a new ‘game sense’ style of coaching to the sport.

Work with Vicsport consisted of casual delivery of strategic planning, inclusive coaching and programming, curriculum development, workshop delivery and mentoring. Primary customers were local, state and national sport and recreation providers.

This role included the development and implementation of Council's Active Moreland Framework using a human rights approach to the provision of physical activity programs, places, and spaces. This led to the prioritisation of facilities and services for those experiencing the most disadvantage. I also managed the design and implementation of the groundbreaking Active Women and Girls’ in Moreland strategy, which introduced the innovative adoption of a sports ground use policy ensuring sporting clubs were more inclusive of women and girls, people with disability and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Regularly appointed as Acting Manager of the Recreation Unit. Providing oversight and direction to the team, conducting performance reviews and providing strategic input to cross organisational meetings and being accountable for decision making.

Launceston, Australia

TASRAD was a community non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting sport and recreation providers to be more inclusive of people with a disability. Accountable to a board of management, my role led the development and operationalisation of organisational strategies. Responsibilities included financial management, statutory requirements, grant seeking, and program design and delivery. This role also included the management of a team of staff, casual presenters and volunteers.A key achievement was leading a major strategic shift away from direct service provision to peak advocacy body. I also delivered a successful campaign calling for the Tasmanian government to ensure state sporting associations were properly funded and supported to deliver inclusive sport.

Led the design and delivery of the Adapted Physical Activity program for the UTAS Human Movement and Primary Education degrees.

Situated within the Community Development team, this role included disability action planning, coordinating the disability advisory committee, developing and delivering staff and community education programs. A key achievement included successfully garnering the support of the Council and the local business community to improve accessibility for people with a disability within the CBD.
