Leanne was admitted to practice as a solicitor in 1999. She has worked as a senior strategist in social, environmental, and political organisations. Her passion is to ensure fairness, to enable voices to be heard, and to ensure those with power are always accountable. She is widely admired in her field for her innovation, entrepreneurial flair, and her capacity to keep fun with everything she does. Her wide network of political, activist, business and global colleagues, her past varied projects and campaigns have equipped her with deep experience to find solutions precisely when things are in flux or disrupted, not just when the path is straight and clear.In the last five years she has also been a small business owner, operating the Ferntree Tavern in Tasmania. During this time she was also Director of The Australia Institute Tasmania where she worked with stakeholders across through the State to progress social, economic education and reform. In this role she also worked closely with her Australia Institute colleagues to assist with national social, economic and political issues.She has now returned to the Australia Institute to help lead innovative strategy and develop policies that foster social justice, environmental sustainability, and a fairer society
