    Senior Project Manager
Boardwalk Reit Properties Holdings (Alberta) Ltd. Nov 2023 - Apr 2024
Working with the Boardwalk team, I facilitated the evaluation and eventual vendor selection for a Contact Centre and Virtual Assistant Solution as part of a larger CRM Program I helped to facilitate vendor demonstrations, proof-of-concepts and a detailed Request for Information (RFI) to the vendors. While evaluating vendors, I developed a plan to quickly move forward to deliver business value early once the vendor selection and contract signing was complete. Working with technical resource and timeline constraints, I worked closely with my Business Analyst to develop a process for gathering business requirements including call flow processes, data, systems and verbiage to facilitate early prototyping for our virtual assistant. We also developed requirements for the integrations that would be required between the legacy systems and the Virtual Assistant to resolve interactions with the customer and prospects contacting the call centre. At the time of signing with Kore.ai, Boardwalk was well prepared to accelerate the implementation time required to meet existing contract deadlines.
  • Shaw Communications
    Senior Information Technology Project Manager
    Shaw Communications Jun 2019 - Jun 2023
    Calgary, Alberta, Ca
In the role of Senior Project Manager for Business Management Applications at Shaw, I successfully delivered phase 1 of a Call Blocking project to meet regulatory deadlines imposed by the CRTC. Due to the large voluntary departure program (VDP) at Shaw there was a significant loss of resources and knowledge for this project. I needed to exercise my "technical hat" and dive into technical troubleshooting and analysis to enable the delivery of the solution in time to meet regulatory deadlines. This initiative required extensive communication and coordination between the many different teams involved. My primary focus since July 2019 has been to deliver a plan and put a team together to decommission a legacy application that is no longer supported by the hardware or software in use. This was part one of a multi-phased program that has been started several times but never made it to execution. The role as project manager required planning and coordination between many different knowledge domains, groups of resources and different release cycles. My technical background and knowledge were an asset in planning and understanding the complexity of the integrations and the order of implementation required. I was able to come up with a multiple release plan to accommodate the timelines and release cycles of other teams while minimizing risk to the organization. I successfully built up a core project team of 10-12 team members to take the project from architecture to analysis/design, development and integrated testing. The project required a hybrid Agile/Waterfall approach due to the size and complexity of the project as well as the different styles of many of the partner teams involved. The $1.8M project was set to be delivered on time and on budget and will have completed 5 of the 7 major releases. Shaw has made the business decision to put this project on hold to mitigate risk and costs during the COVID-19 crisis and prioritize customer-facing initiatives.
  • Atb Wealth
    Senior Program Manager
    Atb Wealth Apr 2016 - May 2019
    Parramatta, New South Wales, Au
Successfully completed the upgrade of a 3rd-party web application with custom enhancements to support the ATB Wealth Mastery Coaches. Managed a small team of ATB resources along with vendor team. In the role of Program Manager for ATB Wealth, I was responsible for a large Salesforce CRM initiative to replace an existing platform that included configuration, custom workflow development and 20+ integrations to existing systems. This was a multi-release initiative worth over $14M, 3 teams and over 30 resources.I led the organization through requirements development and discovery to explore available options and features. I led the team through 2 RFP stages, one for product selection and a second for a 3rd-party implementation partner. Responsibilities included working with our 3rd-party implementation partner to derive a product roadmap, development plan and overall architecture approach. I successfully established and oversaw 3 teams responsible for 1) Salesforce configuration and development, 2) data migration and integration development and 3) Adoption management. Agile methodologies and practices were used for development cycles.I delivered bi-weekly reporting, metrics tracking and presentations for senior management. Managed resources, time tracking, invoice review and approvals, budgets and forecasts, roadmap updates, oversight and review on communications, adoption plans and learning plans. I led a parallel project alongside the Salesforce discovery to review and optimize business processes ahead of the Salesforce implementation to reimagine our customer experience.
  • Atb Financial
    Senior Project Manager
    Atb Financial Apr 2016 - Apr 2017
Implemented Docusign, an enterprise-wide solution for electronic signatures for ATB Financial and ATB Wealth. I successfully transitioned to another project manager to complete the rollout phases.
  • Transalta
    Senior Project Manager, Cutover Lead
    Transalta Apr 2015 - Nov 2015
    Calgary, Alberta, Ca
I was brought into TransAlta in the latter stages of a $15m Allegro implementation to manage the cutover activities to a Parallel environment and subsequent move to Production. This was a large, complex implementation with 18 integrations to systems such as SAP, ZEMA, Inter Continental Exchange (ICE), Wattex-NGX Trading System, OATI eTagging system, a custom retail reporting and reconciliation system (R3S). I worked with the technical and project teams to develop a detailed step-by-step cutover plan communication plan to successfully manage and coordinate dress rehearsal activities and a smooth cutover to a Parallel Production environment to minimize the risks identified with the Production cutover strategy. In addition to managing the cutover activities, I was also reponsible for managing several projects in parallel including the Strategic Data Store (SDS) and BI Reporting development efforts, Business Tool conversions, the 2nd phase of a custom Retail Reporting and Reconciliation (R3S) application and the migration of a local ZEMA suite to a hosted solution.Technology/Tools: Allegro, BizTalk, Azure, Denodo, ZEMA, SAP, ICE, Wattex, OATI eTag, .NET, Microsoft Project 2013, Microsoft Office 2013, Sharepoint 2013
  • Meg Energy Corp
    Senior Project Manager, It
Meg Energy Corp May 2013 - Mar 2015
    Calgary, Alberta, Ca
I was hired to manage a project to procure and deliver a suitable software solution for the Construction Completions and Commissioning & Start-up teams building the plant facilities at MEG Energy. I was able to help facilitate a new business partner relationship between IT and the business teams during a major shift in IT ownership at MEG Energy. After the project team had finished gathering requirements, assessing available solutions and strategies, it was determined that this needed to be a larger program to implement both an enterprise asset data management solution and a functional solution for the business. I worked with the business to build a successful business case and presentation to gain buy-in from the executive management team to move forward with this larger and more strategic initiative. Working through an immature IT environment that was constantly changing and evolving, I was able to remove the road blocks and pave the way for the successful procurement and implementation of this program with multiple vendors. I was responsible for managing the $1.5M budget, project schedule, scope and shared team resources to within 10% of the final budget and schedule estimates. Additional responsibilities also included project management for the analysis, procurement and configuration of a new Human Resources solution, the analysis and selection of a Learning Management Solution and delivery of several smaller Sharepoint Applications and post-implementation activities.Technology/Tools: AVEVA Net, OCCMS Orbit 2.0, HRWare, Workday, Sharepoint 2007 to 2013, Microsoft Project 2013, Microsoft Office
  • Suncor Energy
Project Manager, Oems Program Suncor Energy
    Suncor Energy Nov 2012 - Apr 2013
    Calgary, Alberta, Ca
I was asked to join the Operational Excellence Team consulting team at Suncor to provide technical guidance and project management for one of several streams of the Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) Program. As a key strategic member of this team, I was tasked with collaborating to develop an approach to achieve the program objectives, define initial set-up activities and to help program members with transition during the establishment of a new management team. Working with another team member, we designed a delivery model for the OEMS Program to aid in project organization, business engagement support and tool development. I worked with the OEMS Program advisors to develop a Project Charter, project and resource plans for the Process, Tools and Reporting project. I facilitated sessions, with Business Analysts and Change Management resources to develop various tools and templates to support the OEMS Program objectives. My most interesting and challenging work was collaborating with the Business Analysts to design a data model and an information/document management strategy to support the needs of the OEMS Program. Technology/Tools: Microsoft Project 2010, Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Livelink
  • Cenovus Energy
Contract Project Manager, Data Management Services
    Cenovus Energy Mar 2011 - Nov 2012
    Calgary, Alberta, Ca
I started with the Cenovus Data Management Services Team initally to manage several small internal projects with various requirements for data integrations, data warehouse and BI reporting needs. I managed up to 14 projects simultaneously with small teams from a pool of shared resources. I managed all aspects of the projects estimation, planning, tracking and reporting on project process. I contributed to the development of project management guidelines and governance during Cenovus' shift from a co-partner relationship with vendors to a managed services model. I assisted with the hiring of additional project managers and provided mentorship to junior PM's. I moved to the JD Edwards E1 upgrade program where I was responsible for managing a project team tasked with upgrading the data warehouse, BI reporting and data integrations between JD Edwards E1 and 3rd party applications at Cenovus. These requirements were initially overlooked and for the upgrade and thus my team was brought in very late to program. The lack of knowledge in this area meant that the program leads had to put their trust in me to accurately identify what was needed and the best approach to get there. We were pushed hard to come up with an aggressive schedule to meet pre-determined deadlines. I was able to create a plan and negotiate incentive bonuses for team members who would need to work an excessive amount of overtime to meet the timelines. Our team successfully delivered a fully-tested, bug-free set of integrations, reports and data warehouse updates ahead of schedule and within budget. This was a very difficult, politically and technically challenging project and program that tested me on many angles but also provided a great deal of satisfaction in my ability to deliver this initiative successfully. Technology/Tools: Microsoft Project 2010, Microsoft Office, Informatica, TIBCO, SAP Business Objects Reporting, Oracle 8i and 11g, Data Warehouse, JD Edwards Enterprise One.

The budget for this project was $9M for development and implementation. This project required coordination between several vendors, independent contractors and internal employees. • Chartwell Technology Inc.
    Pmo Director
    Chartwell Technology Inc. 2004 - 2006
I was initially asked to come in to evaluate the requirements for project management training, project team structure, project governance and guidelines and to develop a plan for the organization. I created a "fit-for-purpose" Project Management Office structure, established project management standards and tools, hired a project management team and restructured the development team into product teams. I acted as Interim VP of Software Development to fill a vacancy that came up unexpectedly. During this time, I managed 65 employees in the project management, software development and web development teams which were spread across multiple cities. The budget under my management was $5.5M. To meet the needs of a rapidly growing software development company, without an HR function, I created a performance evaluation system, vacation tracking system, established roles and responsibility definitions and created hiring standards and requirements.I actively participated in the senior management meetings and steering committee decisions, participated in merger/acquisition analysis and due diligence activities. This role required me to wear many "hats" in a rapid growth environment with a global client base.Technology/Tools: MS Project 2003, MS Project Server 2003, MS Office, Seapine Test Track Pro, WinCVS Version Control, Subversion, Java development environment, Adobe Flash, MS SQL Server 2000, PMBOK Project methodology.

    Cambridge, Ontario, Ca
I was hired as the Project Manager for a national implementation of a JD Edwards One World module and custom applications for the Customer Service Call Centre. I assisted in developing specifications for and the acquisition of hardware and software required for the JDE One World implementation. I effectively managed resources, timelines and budget for the development and implementation team consisting of internal employees and external consultants from Deloitte & Touche. The rollout required a coordinated effort across the country to upgrade the network, servers and desktops at each of the call centres and field office locations. As part of the national rollout plan, I developed a training plan with a customized training manual and created and conducted a series of Train-the-Trainer and end-user training sessions for the pilot and Phase 1 rollout before handing it over to the call centre management team to finish the rollout. I worked closely with a translator to ensure proper translation of the software interface and training materials to French for the Quebec offices. While at Superior Propane, I utilized some of my technical skills to assist with business process analysis, develop a menu-driven internal company intranet and assist the Marketing department with the creation of an RFP, vendor selection and implementation of a Content Management system for their external company website.
