About Leanne Preston Cortez
Creative and production executive with 18+ years' industry experience.Having started her career at Nickelodeon, Leanne worked on the development and production of original content for Nickelodeon's international channels, including the hit live action show House of Anubis and several short form animated series.As Head of Development at Red Kite Animation Leanne implemented a new development strategy, managed the development team and built a new slate of projects. Her team redeveloped the preschool property Ella Bella Bingo, sold to 25+ territories internationally and the award winning George of the Jungle, for Teletoon (together with DreamWorks Classics) sold to over 125 channels worldwide, among other projects.From Red Kite, Leanne set up Bright Box Creative, helping producers and broadcasters around the globe to develop and produce their original IP. In this capacity, Leanne managed whole development slates, created original concepts for producers and broadcasters, story edited series and wrote scripts, bibles and treatments. Leanne also hired talent, managed budgets, found creative partners, managed teams, pitched to networks and investors and travelled to work with in-house teams around the globe. In 2015 Leanne moved to Los Angeles, working on both the creative and business sides to develop and produce original IP for kids and family audiences.
