As our family owned 3D Laser Scanning Company has grown so too has my role at Wysiwyg 3D. Shane Rolton heads up the technical team and focuses on the 3D scanning of parts and objects, my role is our business. I have been behind the scenes to help build our small innovative firm into Australia’s leading 3D scanning service provider.

Worked with a small team of dedicated draftpersons in all aspects of a Design Consultancy in Building Services including Hydraulics, Mechanical (HVAC) and Fire. Liasing with engineers to produce drawings using Autocad for Tender Purposes for large commercial, industrial and residential projects.

Worked for a number of engineering consultancy firms specialising in HVAC drafting using Autocad for Tender and design purposes for large residential and commercial projects. Also worked for HVAC Mechanical Contractors to provide accurate HVAC drawings for Construction and As Built purposes including scheduling and schematics.

As a 1st apprentice draftperson the plan printer (the old ammonia version) quickly became my friend as did Document Control. From these 2 roles time management and organisation quickly became a necessity as I learnt to deal with a team of Engineers from both the Civil-Structural department and the Building Services department. I started my journey on the drafting board with a set of pens and a whole bunch of templates - drafting was more of an art form with a set of drafting standards policed by the Chief Draftsman. Concurrently studying a Civil Engineering Associate Diploma made for busy times. As my apprenticeship continued I progressed through to the computer and used Autocad trained by the Chief Draftsman and mentored by some of the Senior Draftpersons.
