Meeting with potential new clients, proposing solutions to meet clients’ needs for unique and novel hydrogen infrastructure projects, and preparing and presenting proposals to clients. Responsible for the planning and supervision of a variety of hydrogen infrastructure projects for OEMs, universities, research, and government organizations. Oversee all aspects of projects including proposals, project schedules and budgets, resource allocation, design calculations and drawings, equipment specification and selection, P&IDs, HAZOP studies, customer communication, and commissioning. Managed multiple consecutive projects – up to total of 11 projects, with a combined project value of over $7M. Oversaw the work of a team of engineers, programmers, technicians, and technologists. Managed project schedules and budgets and ensure that a high-quality product was delivered on schedule. Mechanical/process project design. Performed equipment specification and selection (compressors, pressure vessels, relief valves, instrumentation, heat exchangers, piping), PFD and P&ID designs, general arrangement drawings. Oversaw fabrication work. Daily visits to fabrication shop to monitor progress and provide guidance/management to shop personnel for approximately 1 year period when there was no shop manager or supervisor. Maintained client satisfaction through responsive and direct communication. Act as an approachable and knowledgeable customer contact offering prompt and effective solutions to clients’ needs. Improved the Hydrogen Infrastructure team’s work processes by developing operating procedures, engineering calculation spreadsheets, HAZOP analysis report templates, and technical/design specifications. Obtained regulatory approval for hydrogen refueling equipment and pressure vessels with local regulatory authorities such as TSBC and RBQ. Successfully worked through challenging situations such as variance applications to obtain full support and approval from the AHJs.

Analyze customer energy data to determine energy use. Mechanical design of ASME Section I, Section IV, and Section VIII boilers/heaters and pressure piping to ASME B31.1 and B31.3. Gas burner design to CSA B149.1/149.3.
Electrical Engineer
Electrical and controls design, installation supervision, commissioning and technical support for biomass heaters and boilers and gas-fired thermal energy systems. Supervised contractors during electrical installation, trained plant operators, and developed instruction and training manuals. Performed electrical engineering including electrical schematics (AutoCAD), PLC programming (RSLogix), HMI design (Wonderware Intouch, RSView), networking (Ethernet, Controlnet, Devicenet), lighting & grounding design, and instrumentation specification.
