As a Pershing Fellow for Nonprofit Leadership at the Saint Louis Art Museum, I collaborate across different departments to assist in the early preparation for Art in Bloom, one of the Museum's largest events. This involves problem solving and performing feasibility studies for spatial limitations for 30 floral interpretations and using software like TMS, Adobe, and Piction. As a fellow I have designed, budgeted, and piloted a sensory kit proposal to increase inclusiveness and accessibility in The Museum. This process involved meeting with multiple Community Partners reaching out to experts and coordinating an action plan across Museum departments and divisions. I have conducted intensive provenance and research for a gift acquisition and learned about organizational structure, including attending three board meetings and 12 informational interviews. As part of my Fellowship off-site, I am learning storytelling facilitation skills from Campfire and about the nonprofit sector.

Along with a team of fellow interns, I explored museum careers, communicated with modern artists, and juried and curated an exhibition: Weight of Shadows by Sukanya Mani. Weight of Shadows tells the story of domestic violence survivors in an effort to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote safe spaces for meaningful dialogue. In addition, I interviewed Sukanya Mani at a Contemporary Art Museum Artist Talk panel discussion after the exhibition opening.
