There are six criteria for judging gemstones, of which three are the most important: clarity, color, and carat. The other three criteria are origin, processing, and optimization. Clarity refers to whether the gemstone contains a lot of content, low transparency, and poor aesthetics. Take ruby as an example for color. The color standard of high-quality ruby is judged by the three elements of Munsell color: red hue, moderate lightness, and medium to strong saturation. The larger the carat of the same quality, the higher the price, and it increases exponentially. Large carats are very rare, and high-quality rubies over 5 carats are often the protagonists of auctions.
