CurrentSpearhead the strategic direction, vision, and reach of BCDG and its membership through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach. Deliver oversight of the budget, funding strategies, new member programs, advisory board, and staff hiring. Lead county, city, state, and national advocacy efforts. Act as the voice of BCDG among stakeholders, in workgroup and committee meetings, and articulate critical policy changes related to Black families and communities. Consistently ensure the financial health and fiscal integrity of the organization by steering fundraising, ensuring maximum resource utilization Increased organization’s visibility by serving as the primary spokesperson on panel discussions and to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public, in addition to cultivating strategic relationships with community organizations, ranking U.S. Congress officials, and corporate representatives. Successfully launched the Building Thriving Communities Internship program, in addition to three cohorts, including Leadership Succession, Knowledge Collective, and Program Development.
