Oversaw the international export program by seeking to increase international trade of Arizona products and to educate international importers, wholesalers, retailers, and consumers. Oversaw the Arizona Grown Program by encouraging the Arizona agricultural industry to use the Arizona Grown logo to help identify Arizona products. Prepared policy analysis/recommendations and budget recommendations. Advised the Director on agricultural trade issues. Cooperated with the Governor's Office, other state agencies, federal agencies, and the industry to resolve agricultural trade issues. Attended trade shows, trade missions, and conferences in order to promote Arizona agricultural products and represent the State of Arizona. Developed and oversaw a $5.8 million budget, including state funds, industry fees, federal grants, and cooperative agreements. Communicated directly with lobbyists, legislators, legislative staff, other agency heads, the agricultural industry, and other federal/state counterparts. Staffed the division’s Advisory Council. Developed and revised policies and procedures. Proactively searched for ways to streamline the division’s roles and responsibilities. Interpreted and enforced statutes and rules. Responsible for regulating the livestock, dairy, meat and poultry, egg, ratite, and aquaculture industries. Served as policy coordinator for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station emergency response team. Awards received: Leader of the Month – November 2014, Director’s Gold Star Award – October 2016, Supervisor of the Quarter – 2017, and Supervisor of the Year – 2017.
