The role of the Head-ICT is to lead and direct the strategic and operational activities of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) function including the development and implementation of information, communication and technology strategies, plans, governance, policies, procedures and projects in order to ensure automation of key business processes and the availability, reliability, security and stability of the ICT systems of BDC and its subsidiaries.

The Manager, IT Network & Systems Administration is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the Group’s databases, applications and systems. The incumbent spearheads system activities to support customer facing applications, and also designs, supports, maintains and evaluates the Group’s computer networking systems. The role also includes installing, configuring and maintaining physical and virtual computer servers to ensure reliable access to data and systems at all times. Brief Duties and Responsibilities:1. Contributes to the formulation, execution, review and updating of the strategy of BDC.2. Provides analytical support and user training on database applications3. Manages database systems, including monitoring performance, ensuring data is secure 4. Manages the back up and safe keeping of data files to ensure recovery in case of lost data.5. Liaises with service providers for the installation of new software and updates 6. Understands user requirements and updates systems and applications accordingly.7. Manage s the Group’s LAN and WAN hardware and infrastructure to ensure they are safe and reliable. 8. Manages first line support for queries relating to network support, ensuring that they are attended to.9. Oversee s network and server configuration maintenance and management through service providers.10. Deploys and manages all equipment and maintain hardware inventory records.
