The Mathematics Pentathlon is a program of interactive problem-solving games, supportive curricular and instructional activities, and assessment tools for ALL students in grades K-7. This motivational program strengthens basic math concepts and skills, aligns with National and State Mathematics Standards, and stimulates creative thinking while developing problem-solving skills. A critical feature of this program is the linkage of arithmetic reasoning with geometric/spatial and logical/scientific thinking. These strategic games, activities, and assessments develop an essential futuristic ability: active problem solving.

Actually, Mike and I were Chairs of St Mary's Oktoberfest for over 5 years. We organized and help to raise funds for the church groups so they could, in return, help out people in need.

I was assigned Lamar Middle School during a major transaction between administration. I learned a lot about educational law and helped bridge gaps during busing situations in the district. Along with overseeing 6th graders and 1/2 of 7th graders, who were always creative - as I was at that age - this job was a wonderful experience.

As an AP I worked under the best administrator in the Austin ISD, Dr Douglas Hall - a man that is truly a role model for every person who is fortunate to cross his path. We split the duties of a school and collaborated on innovative ideas.

We offered educational classes to enable TAs and paraprofessionals the opportunity to take classes at the university level in their goal to obtain teacher certifications in the state of Texas.

Cutting edge technology of the time! Back then distance learning was being tested by SWTSU (now TSU). We brought teachers and students together from remote locations. This position was an outstanding opportunity that allowed me to excel in technology so I could help others across central Texas.
