Integration of environmntal legal and policy equirements in City planning processes, including input into Provincial EIA decision manking process. Function also involves the coordination and screening of the City's capital projects to ensure compliance with environmental legislative requiements prior implementation, includng post authorisation compliace monitoring with the conditions of authorisatio. I have also been working very closely with the GDARD in the process to designate Environmental Management Inspectors at Local Authority level.

Responsible to oversee the review and approval of EIA applications submitted by govenment parastatals (Eskom, Transnet etc.) including applications from provincial environment departments. Also responsible to oversite to environmental trieties governing Marion and the Antarctica Islands. Was instrumental in positive EIA decision making on some of the Country's major infrastructure projects, such as Medupi, uShaka Airport in Durban, Transnet's deep water port in the Eastern Cape, etc. The function also included the setup of a dashboard of key infrastructure projects, by Eskom and Transnet, at the height of the electrcity blackouts, and also preperation for the hosting of the Soccer World cup. Serviing at various other committees, such as the Katse Dam and De Hoop Dam environmental monitoring committee meetings was also part of my responsibility. Was also a member of a team of experts dedicated to finding a solution to the energy problems faced by the Country. In partnership with Eskom, Nuclear energy was sort as an energy solution for the Country.

Responsible to oversee the reiew and comment into both the Town Planning and the EIA decision making processes. The function involved the inclusion of environmental requirements into City spaial plans (Regional Spatial Development Plans, Precinct Plans includig site development plans. Also responsible for compliance monitoring of two of the City's strategic projects (Cosmo City & the Alexandra Renewal Project).
