As the business development Representative for AJ Engineering I am responsible for connecting with new and old clients and understanding what there requirements are. I actively seek work for the business and constantly engage with customers. My role is to develop long term, successful business relationships by working closely with clients to develop the right solutions to their specific challenges. I look at the business in different ways to see how we can expand and diversify in the most effective manner.

Spending about 50% of my time working on business development. Meeting new clients and assessing projects that are up coming. Out on the road on a weekly basis and building customer relationships. Constantly researching the industry so we are first in line for large projects.Supply Chain Management;Procurement of steel - Reading drawings and establishing what needs to be ordered in a timely and cost effective manner. Dealing with suppliers and negotiating the best possible deals. Logistics - Dealing with all logistics for the company ranging from sending our workers out in a van to organising a wide loads and long runs.Goods in/out - ensuring the stores team manage the goods in and out process correctly. Ensuring steel arriving is to the correct grade and according to purchase order.Materials Management - Managing all stock in our yard and ensuring it’s is either replenished or used to its full potential.Waste Management - dealing with the waste of off oils, coolants, industrial waste at the best possible rates with local companies.

My role includes scheduling all parts for blasting, Coating and fitting out. Ensuring all jobs are completed according to client/project specification. Procurement off all materials ensuring the company gets the best possible deal. Reading engineering drawings and calculating to correct amount of paint is ordered for each job is very important.I am responsible for signing off all parts to ensure complete compliance with specifications. This role is paramount to ensure projects are delivered correctly.I must ensure all documentation for the job is submitted on time for inspection by our clients. I like to ensure everything is done safely on time and within budget on a first time basis.

Kinloss Barracks

I take the responsibility of shot blasting steel fabrications and pipe work to a strict specification for a large range of clients.I’m currently training the use of airless and conventional spray equipment. Under supervision I will complete coating works in accordance with client specifications.I also have a small role in our office creating job packs, submitting paint reports, scheduling inspectors and working alongside them.
