My role focus incorporates the function of Director of Security of Rampton Hospital as required under the High Security Psychiatric Services Directions 2013. I also lead the Trust Health & Safety Department, provide the Trust Local Security Management Service (LSMS) and provide Violence Reduction training through the services I lead I bring to bear considerable experience of service commissioning, pathway development, senior leadership and facilitative decision making to the position. I am an advocate of distributed leadership and value the benefits to both patients and the service through engagement and being able to achieve what as people we all want: to be recognised, respected, have our contribution and value recognised and perhaps most importantly to connect with others. The strength of the service I have the privilege to lead is not the equipment or technology. It is not the policies and procedures. It is the people who work within it and make the sum of the parts something that excels and keeps people safe.
