I have spent over 20 years as a Risk Engineer, most of that time as an Account Engineer and Manager. Over my 13 years with TUV Sud GRC, I have grown my team from 2 engineers to 16, with engineers in four countries now reporting to me. I have account engineered several blue chips in the mining, pharmaceutical, food and insurance sectors.My main role is working with clients that represent a unique challenge and adapting products that meet their requirements.While my risk engineer training is in fire and property loss, I have spent a lot of time over the last 6 years working with our seismic experts and while I would not claim to be anything close to a seismic engineer, I have developed a good grounding in some of the fundamental contributors to earthquake losses.Prior to entering the risk engineer arena, I spent over 15 years in various industries including coal mining, rail, cement and paper. I have worked at most levels from Apprentice to Senior Manager and have a unique perspective when dealing with people from shop floor to board room.My main pastimes are on-line chess and martial arts (Ju Jitsu and Kick Boxing). I also play the guitar to a very rudimentary level.
