Working with teams on a variety of interesting and challenging construction projects within Wellington city and the region-2 Aitken street deconstruction - Demolition of a seismically damaged 9 level building covering an area of 23000m2.A high profile project situated in close proximity to parliament and the national library, requiring a key focus on occupational health, public safety and interaction with local stakeholders.The Victoria University Gateway science facility - A challenging project with a value of $80m that will add 12,000m2 of science teaching, research and laboratory facilities to the Kelburn campus. The project required a key focus on public safety and minimum disruption to campus activities during the excavation and construction phases.Wellington International Airport Multi level car park - An eight level car park and upgrade of surrounding areas. High profile project involving aviation and public management.MPI Bio lab - The National Biocontainment Laboratory is based at the National Centre for Biosecurity and Infectious Disease at Wallaceville, Upper Hutt, a highly technical project.

Mackays To Peka Peka Alliance

The M2PP Alliance roading project involves the building of a four-lane expressway from Mackays Crossing to Peka Peka.The route runs, for approximately 18 kilometres, from just north of MacKays Crossing to Peka Peka Road. 600-700 staff at peak, approx. 3.5 year project Total of 18 bridges, including a crossing of Waikanae River.Working with a HS Manager and team.

Waikato Expressway, Ngaruwahia Section

The Ngaruwahia Expressway project is a design and construction of 10.5km long four lane expressway. Key components of the project include, earthworks involving 1,000,000 m3 + of compacted fill, seven new structures including a new four lane bridge carrying the expressway over the Waikato River, improvement and realignment of existing roads, stormwater drainage and treatment facilities, landscaping and urban design works, management of state highway and local road traffic during construction, protection and relocation of utility services, accommodation works and ancillary works.Responsibilities include developing site safety inductions, procedures and plans for site, haul-road work and bridging the Waikato. Facilitating and coordinating site safety practises and performances, including monitoring of procedures, reporting, recording and implementing improvements in Health & Safety. To champion ‘Zero Harm’ and ‘Just Culture’ Principles. Key role of communication and education between site teams.

Victoria Park Tunnel Alliance, Auckland

The Victoria Park Alliance Project comprised of a 2.4km motorway improvement and alignment involving a cut & cover tunnel under Victoria Park and the realignment of approaches and widening of a 2.4km section of State Highway 1.Working with a HS team,key area of focus was managing air quality monitoring in a historic heavy industry location, containing hazardous contaminated ground conditions. General H&S duties included auditing, education, training and monitoring of the work practises of a 440 strong team of employees and subcontractors.

New Lynn Rail Trench, Auckland

The New Lynn Rail Trench Project was the construction of approximately one kilometre of rail trench 12 to 19m in width and up to 8m in depth. 16m-deep diaphragm walls were formed by driving piles up to 40m into rock beneath clay and peat layers. Duplicate tracks were laid on the concrete base and a central island rail platform provided. Logistically challenging, the project was constructed using large capacity piling rigs, in a town centre, while maintaining rail and road traffic and managing the very substantial number of truck movements required to move 100,000m3 of excavated material and other construction related items on and off the site.Responsibilities included undertaking the Night Shift H&S Coordinator role for six months working with the H&S Team. Role as main H&S Coordinator (Sept 09 –Aug 10) responsibilities included overseeing Dart 6 and Dart 4 projects. Working within a strict live rail environment. Approx. 240 employees and contractors. The Project achieved the NZ Supreme Award for Engineering Excellence.

Northern Busway Stage 2, Auckland

Northern Busway Stage 2 extended the dedicated Busway by around a kilometre. This extension included the construction of a 200m bridge below the high tide mark. Stage 2 also included the construction of new on and off ramp bridges over SH1 and the demolition of the existing SH1 overbridge. Two further bridges have been widened to accommodate bus lanes and retrofitted with seismic protection. Approx 120 employees and contractors,

Northern Busway Project Stage 1

The Northern Busway Project Stage 1 comprised the reconstruction and extension of the existing Esmonde Rd Interchange and construction of the adjacent 8kms of Busway.'The project also included the installation of ducts, jointing chambers and associated infrastructure to enable Transpower New Zealand to future proof telecommunication network
