Lee Craig has retired from the practice of law. He devotes his attention now to literature, history, music, fitness and travel. Formerly, he was an attorney with Butler Weihmuller Katz Craig, and was peer-review rated "AV Preeminent" by Martindale-Hubbell.Lee joined the Butler firm as an associate attorney. In due course he became a partner, then, for a time, the managing partner, then a name partner. In those years the firm grew from a single office, in Tampa, Florida, to include offices in Miami, Tallahassee, Mobile, Charlotte, Chicago, Philadelphia and Dallas.During his career Lee tried cases to jury verdict or final judgment in all United States District Courts in Florida and many Florida Circuit Courts. He was lead counsel on appeals to the United States Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh and Fourth Circuits, the Florida Supreme Court and three Florida District Courts of Appeal.Lee was devoted to "DRI" the Defense Research Institute, which is the leading organization of defense attorneys and corporate counsel in the world. In DRI he was a Committee Chair, a National Director and a member of the Law Institute. In 2010, he received the Davis Carr Outstanding Committee Chair Award and, in 2019, the Thomas Segalla Award for Excellence in Legal Education. His other professional associations included the Federal Bar Association and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.
